Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Develop a vision and strategic plan for the sales organization based on company’s revenue goals, past success, current competitive environment, and future market trend
- Define KPI’s and sales targets and support drivers to meet/exceed plans across all channels
- Evaluate performance to objectives and work with Directors and Regional Managers to ensure proper and effective plans are in place to meet sales targets
- Define regional territories, approve event road map and ensure Rep coverage for all key events nation-wide
- Identify, pitch and manage negotiations for new wholesale partners and evaluate relationships with existing partners
- Build and maintain relationships with current and potential sponsored high school organizations in order to drive both event and team sales
- Manage relationships with international distributors, working with them to build buying plans and to facilitate custom product development
- Work with demand planners to ensure inventory is available in a timely manner for all sales channels
- Partner with leadership in other functions such as Finance, Legal, Operations, and Marketing to ensure 100% compliance in all aspects of business deals
- Work closely with the marketing team to build compelling campaigns for events, team sales and trade shows
- Oversee both domestic and international trade shows to source new retail accounts in the US and Europe
- Define roles and responsibilities, set performance and development goals, motivate and coach team of direct reports, implement training strategies and sales plans that motivate team execution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, MBA is a plus
- 10 + years in sales/account management for an apparel or sporting goods company
- Experience managing a field sales reps across a large territory
- Strong people-management skills, including mentoring and motivating a team with diverse backgrounds and skill sets
- Knowledge of P&L execution, ROI, Budgetary Control and Client Relationships
- Strong knowledge of Retail Mathematical Measurements
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Background as an athlete is helpful, but not required
