ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MOST IMPORTANT TO GET THE JOB DONE)
-    Daily communication with both internal teams (Merchandising, Tech Design, Operations, Quality, Design, etc.) and external partners (agents & factories) to lead communication on sampling needs, Quality standards and development policies/procedures in a timely manner
-    Lead the product development process for a product category, or designated categories, within a Strategic Business Unit including the development and approval of new trims, art techniques, and new fabrications 
-    Provide basic apparel costing insights for designated product categories; partner with Merchandising to understand customer needs, cost and margin goals, and also research low-cost execution options with the brand's Hong Kong office and external partners to uphold the integrity of the intended design    
-    Maintain accurate and timely records within designated enterprise technology systems; utilize data to analyze  and report style development status and production concerns  
-    Communicate long lead time sample yardage needs from Design to overseas teams for successful sample delivery 
-    Support Sales, Merchandising and Design by tracking and reporting Market & Sales Sample status  
-    Attend sample review sessions to note design changes, identify development or quality concerns, and ensure revisions  are clearly communicated to appropriate partners through  summaries and/or enterprise technology systems (e.g., Product Lifecycle Management system)  
-    Create and maintain Production Bill of Materials (BOMs) to meet the desired Design and Merchandising product aesthetics based on sample reviews and notes   
-    Order, track and review all product development inbound submits and samples (art punches, strike offs , fits, size sets, PP samples, etc.) within the needed timeframe to keep development and production on schedule; expedite and prioritize to maintain delivery dates  
-    Oversee any special testing and sampling needs for specific customers (Costco, Sam's, Wal-Mart, etc.)
-    Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Product Development (PD) and Time & Action (T&A) calendars; monitor seasonal progress and ensure that deadlines, specific to approvals and fabric commitments, are met and partner with appropriate teams to expedite as needed   
-     Approve the documentation, validation and reporting of liabilities, excess fabric disposal and sampling charges 
-    Cost engineer product and communicate suggestions for cost savings 
-    Partner with Design to source raw materials and trims and approve/comment in PLM system
-    Approve Pre Production samples against approval standards (trims, color, graphic)
-    Participate in sample review meetings and sketch reviews and call out cost or execution concerns-    -
