Job Title: Freelance Packaging Associate (Home Division)

Location: New York, NY

Duration: July 9th- on going

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Packaging Operations: from Development through Final Production for in house brands .
  • Create and Maintain an actionable Time and Action Calendar by vendor and packaging  type to ensure on time deliveries.
  • Manage the production needs for all packaging and labeling components (care labels, logo labels, vinyl bags, clamshells, printed inserts, hangtags, RFID tickets/stickers and UPC ticketing/stickers).
  • Assign PLM ID#’s seasonal for all new packaging components & manage/communicate this information to the appropriate channels.
  • Communicate with Shanghai Office, Newtimes India Office & Direct Vendors on the packaging and labeling guidelines, corporate polybag protocols, right sizing, packaging and label placement.
  • Communicate daily with the packaging vendors to help trouble shoot any issues in a timely manner and ensure they are receiving & fulfilling all production orders on-time.
  • Monitor TOP packaging for correct execution
  • Coordinate with Technical Designer on packaging inserts and in coordination with QA testing partners manage/assign the care label instructions and compliance for the vendors.
  • Maintain Packaging and Labeling Guides
  • Collaborate with Merchandising and Design on special packaging needs
  • Manage Global packaging strategy with suppliers including cost analysis and negotiation
  • Establish best practices for monitoring packaging quality standards including protocols
  • Spec and order giftware packaging as necessary
  • Ensure all development and completion is done within the timeframe of the product calendar
  • Maintain Vendor Packaging approval log & help new vendors through the packaging and labeling order process.

Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years of experience in related field and/or strong internship experience.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and project management skills with an attention to detail.
