Title: Director of Sales, National Retail Accounts

Reports to: Vice President of Sales

Job Description:

  • Collaborate with major department store retailer buying and planning teams to develop strategic sales plans, forecast for future product launches, and assist with replenishment, stock management, and sell-through. 

  • Communicate all product or sale launches, pricing, allocations, samples, and special programs to each account' buying team launch.

  • Plan annual sampling calendar in conjunction with each retailer’s  promotional calendar.

  • Work closely with buyers to plan retailer side-by-side calendars, strategically scheduling promotional activity to drive YOY growth to maximize on revenue and sell-through.

  • Collaborate with account e-commerce teams to create marketing calendars including the sample program, direct emails, ads, site updates, etc.).

  • Manage seasonal fixture update plans as carried out by the Merchandising team helping to ensure proper display plans according to account assortments, gondola set dates, and future launch timelines per account.

  • Assist accounts with placing orders to ensure correct quantities and order processing.

  • Coordinate RTV authorization and tracking, with adherence to budget and internal control procedures. Assist with resolving stock concerns and requests from the field.

  • Oversee the submission of assortments, setup forms, comps, and assets with Sales Coordinators and Account Executives.

  • Lead the sales team in creation of sales proposals and presentations for major department store account market meetings.

  • Provide regular sales reporting and analysis to both VP of Sales and Directors such as best sellers, mix of business, door rankings, and new business opportunities as they compare to expectations and past sales.

  • Participate in weekly sales review with management in addition to regular budget review with the VP of Sales and the Finance Dept.

  • Manage business information, completing reports, organizing files, tracking project timelines, and meeting deadlines on assigned activities


  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Min. of 2 years of experience in a corporate Account Management position within the beauty industry working with color cosmetics.

  • Proven experience and success driving sales on a national scale for a color cosmetics and beauty brand.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Self-motivated, results-driven, detail-oriented, and ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner with ease and successful follow up along the way.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills.

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to think and perform creatively.

  • Ability to travel 10-15% of the time to onsite appointments with accounts or for market.
