Title: Director of Entertainment Marketing

Job Description:

  • Lead an account team (currently 2 direct reports) for a portfolio of 8+ brands by overseeing their day-to-day work and managing each individual towards success and growth including preparing annual reviews with an aim of building a culture of high performance
  • Able to develop and negotiate an agency scope of work for retainer needs or to support a project
  • Manage the business of an account including hours planning and reconciliation, forecasting and overseeing brand budgets
  • Grow strong relationship and trust with senior clients based on providing relevant counsel and understanding of their business and entertainment marketing needs
  • Lead development and present brief responses (sometimes as part of an inter-agency team) that are strategic, executable and provide clear KPIs and expected ROI
  • Lead projects from concept/planning to activation
  • Make recommendations for updated or new processes to benefit the client or within the agency


Talent Procurement

  • Lead the talent procurement process for public relations, advertising, digital and influencer seeding campaigns (talent casting, negotiation and management)
  • Participate in internal talent casting/brainstorming sessions
  • Conduct talent outreach and research to developed network of agents, managers, publicists, etc.
  • Oversee and understand the need for talent vetting and background checks (via third party service provider) 
  • Identify entertainment content opportunities (e.g. integration, sponsorships, etc.)
  • Development of client-facing materials, including casting sheets, scopes of work, formal offer letters, contracts and recap documents
  • Negotiation of formal offer and long form agreements on behalf of brand and agency clients
  • SAG-AFTRA management including working with signatories to confirm allocations and financial implication of allocations, budget management and payment
  • Knowledge of FTC guidelines and requirements for social media disclosure

Campaign Management

  • Facilitate talent approvals of campaign materials and counsel clients on best approach to asset alignment
  • Track/document all talent approvals
  • Oversee coordination of logistics and attending shoots, PR days/appearances and events as a talent lead onsite which requires travel outside of NYC
  • Oversee campaign deliverables based on talent contracts
  • Maintain Contract Tracker for each campaign

General

  • Attend (and lead when necessary) regularly scheduled client conference calls and in-person meetings
  • Develop new business leads and relationships; participate in presentations to clients and prospective clients
  • Monitor entertainment social media channels, blogs, publications and broadcast channels for information relevant to our clients
  • Assist in the overall growth of the agency, including new business & networking

Job Requirements

  • Passion for entertainment (entertainment, sports, music, fashion and beauty), and the business of entertainment with particular interest in candidates with a strong sports and /or country music expertise
  • Strong knowledge of pop-culture, including celebrities, athletes, musicians, social influencer landscape, etc.
  • Strategic thinker who can manage multiple priorities and understands how to work with complex clients and integrated agency teams
  • Creative, flexible,self-motivated, problem solver and quick decision maker

Work Experience, skills and education

  • 7+ years of client management, talent procurement/buying experience
  • Experience interacting with brands, agencies (public relations & advertising), agents, managers & publicists as well as talent-facing
  • Ability to supervise and license music a plus
  • Strong relationships with entertainment agents, managers, publicists, and other entertainment properties
  • Strong written, presentation and public speaking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Digital tools
  • Bachelors degree; preferred if degree is in a relevant course of study; e.g. business administration, sports management, integrated marketing communications (marketing, PR, advertising)
