Job Title: Account Director, Beauty


A Director will be held accountable for an entire department that can comprise of 20+ accounts  and will manage those accounts within their division in an overarching manner. Proven ability to supervise and drive multiple client account initiatives, while ensuring your team is delivering strong and targeted press coverage, elevated strategies and comprehensive PR plans.  This position will serve as a leader in the department and within the agency as a whole.

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example; demonstrate strong work ethic, mastery of PR tactics and excellent people management
  • Motivate and coach teams to produce quality work and meet client objectives while achieving staff growth goals
  • Look for office specialty area integration opportunities
  • Grow account organically by introducing clients to relevant capabilities, including resources outside of your own group, to advance their business goals
  • Commit to continuous learning and building your technical and leadership skills through training
  • Set and pursue challenging goals for yourself and your staff
  • Help plan and evaluate team structures to maximize project profitability and quality
  • Help ensure financial policies and processes are followed by team
  • Provide ongoing constructive feedback to staff and consistently hold them accountable for performance and compliance, and address under-performance in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Mentor, coach and support all team members and ensure you and your staff are developing abilities through other training, including on-the-job training and mentoring
  • Set achievable goals and tasks, delegate opportunities and provide resources for staff to meet their goals; consistently measure and recognize goal achievement
  • Oversee staff’s work products to ensure quality, consistency and to foster desire to attain and maintain performance excellence
  • Empower staff and instill in them the benefits of taking calculated risks
  • Ensure performance expectations, career development plan and specific goals are set and reviewed annually during the formal performance review process for all direct reports
  • Contribute to the performance appraisal process for peers, managers, and direct reports
  • Assist in recruitment process by interviewing and helping select personnel 


  • 7+ years of PR experience within beauty
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills
  • Proven success securing top tier press
  • Relationships with key editors
