Essential Duties/Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Research new and innovative ideas seasonally, targeted specifically for each brand based on direction given– silhouettes, materials, hardware, etc. 
  • Assist in creating seasonal mood boards and trend reports for both footwear and handbags
  • Manage and organize design calendar and scheduling for numerous brands
  • Responsible for organizing and scheduling all freelance consultants, to ensure design teams have proper support
  • Help maintain and update an accurate originals library for all company original purchases, as well as the organization of originals closet
  • Assist team with department expense reporting
  • Facilitate initial design development: technical construction reports, construction and style naming, materials report, color palette
  • Attend and assist in all sketch and proto review meetings
  • Organize inspiration and creative direction collateral for all brands
  • Responsible for market research and recaps, including frequent visits to key retailers to see new product and emerging trends
  • Daily correspondence with China when necessary for follow up on design details


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred
  • 4+ years of experience
  • Preferred experience in trend forecasting services
  • Must be highly organized and able to thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Must be MAC OS proficient, and knowledgeable in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong follow up capability and must be an effective communicator
  • Must possess good fashion sense and ability to seek out and predict trends
  • Plus, but not required: 
    • Fashion design or Accessories design background 
    • Sketching ability
    • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and InDesign)
